My Other Pages

To make it easier to read about our trip to Ireland, I have made a page that is just for that. There is a tab above for Ireland Trip 2014 or click on the Home tab to read my other posts. I have also created a new page for My Weight Loss Journey if you are interested in that, click on the tab above.

Break from blogging

No pictures for projects for today. Sorry! I will be taking a break from blogging for a little bit. Tomorrow, June 14th I am having a total hip replacement, so I won't be doing any blogging until I am back home.

I will be in the hospital until Thursday and then in a rehab facility for another 5 days. Hopfully, it won't be long after that before I can start posting some projects again.

Today I stamped a whole lot of images and will be taking them with me along with my water color crayons and an aquapen. I figure this won't take much room, will be easy to transport and easy to work on.

One of the things I want to challenge myself to do, is to do more stamping. I love it, but just don't do a lot. There are so many cool techniques and ideas that I want to try and this should get me started.

Once I am back home, hopefully I will be able to put some cards and projects together and have something to show you.

Until then, happy crafting to y'all.

Color/shape/number book

Here is a little book I made for part of a shower gift. Below you can see the Alphabet book and farther down the "Xavier" book that I gave with it. This was a new idea for me and boy did I have to experiment with this one. Each "page" is made with a toilet paper tube. I saw the whole mini book idea online and liked it and adapted it for colors, shapes and numbers. Each 'page' is laminated and has a tag inside.

Here you can see all the colors that are included. I punched a hole in the end of each one with my Crop-a-dile and put them all on a binder ring.

These are the tags. Each one is a corresponding color to the tube page.

The backs of the tags each have a corresponding number. So there is 1 red heart, 2 orange circles, 3 yellow flowers and so on. Everyone seemed to love this little 'book' Everything is laminated, so hopefully it will last a long time. Sure hope little Xavier learns his colors, shapes and numbers with it.
I did have some problems with designing it and need to work on the design a bit more. When I really get all the kinks worked out, I will make some more of them as gifts and/or to sell in my Etsy shop.
Thanks for stopping by, leave me a comment and let me know what you think of my little book.

Alphabet book for Xavier

If you have been following what I've been making you have seen the Xavier book that I made and posted about a little bit ago. If you haven't seen it, scroll down a bit and you'll find it. Anyway, it was a shower gift and we were also asked to bring a book instead of cards for the shower. Of course, I had to make my own book. Actually, I made two, I will post the other one in a seperate posting.

Without further ado here are a few pictures of the little Alphabet book that I made for Xavier. Sorry the pictures aren't great, but it's all I have.
I used some pictures that I had taken and a few that I got from Xavier's Grandma.
I wanted to personalize the book, so I got this picture from my friend Carol of her son and made this page, U is for Uncle.
This is a picture that I took of one of my great nephews for a "parts" layout I did of him. T is for tummy.

Here is G is for Grandma and Grandpa. Sorry about that reflection on the pages.

Another picture of one of my Greats. F is for feet.

D is for dog has a picture of Grandma's dog Autumn.
I also did X is for Xavier, but I didn't want to post his picture on my blog. I just didn't feel right about that. It's one thing to post a picture of an adult, but somehow I just didn't feel right about posting the baby's picture here.
The book was a big hit at the shower and I think I'm going to be making more of these in the future.
